We are recruiting researchers with expertise or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for mobile healthcare and biodiagnostics.
1) Who We Are
The Mobile Health & Sensor Lab conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI, mobile healthcare, and sensor technology.
•
We develop AI-powered mobile health solutions that enable real-time, on-site diagnostics using smartphones and portable devices.
•
Our lab fosters a multidisciplinary research environment, collaborating with experts in Electrical Engineering (EE), Bioengineering (BE), Materials Science (MSE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
•
We also maintain close partnerships with hospitals and industry to drive forward the convergence of AI and biomedical technologies.
2) Research Areas
•
Machine learning and deep learning for biomedical data analysis
•
Development and optimization of point-of-care testing (POCT) technologies
•
Sample filtration and enrichment techniques for biological specimens
•
Multi-omics data analysis and integrated diagnostic model development
•
Signal processing and optimization for mobile and portable device sensors
3) Your Role as a Researcher
•
Design and implementation of deep learning-based biosensor and diagnostic algorithms
•
Data analysis, experiment design, and manuscript writing
•
Leading AI-focused projects and building up the lab's AI capabilities
•
Participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative research with hospitals and industry partners
•
Conducting translational research toward technology transfer and productization
4) Required Qualifications
•
Ph.D. (or expected completion) in Computer Science, Bioengineering, or related fields
•
Solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
•
Strong programming skills (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
•
Research experience in analyzing biomedical data (e.g., multi-omics, biosignals, sensor images) or deep learning for data processing
5) Preferred Qualifications
•
Publications in high-impact journals or top-tier AI conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR)
•
Experience in AI-based imaging/signal processing (especially in bio/diagnostics)
•
Experience in collaborative research with companies, hospitals, or public institutions
•
Track record of translating research into products or technology transfer
•
Applicants without all the above but with strong motivation to publish AI-based biomedical research in high-impact journals are also welcome.
